What is Spottiswoode?
A wonderfully eclectic Gastropub located in Melbourne’s inner western suburb of Spotswood. We offer a large variety of beers on tap with a selection of wines to be enjoyed by the open fireplace inside and out. From traditional pub fare to fine cuisine, Spottiswoode Hotel is the perfect new venue for casual drinks, special dinners, business functions and will cater for all events.
The Spottiswoode Hotel was designed by Frederick Woolfe and constructed in 1888 at 62 Hudsons Road, Spotswood. It is significant for its association with the Spottiswoode family whose name is well known within the region and remembered in the name of this suburb. In terms of its design, the Spottiswoode Hotel is an example of Italian Renaissance Revival style, often associated with hotels built near railway stations. The Spottiswoode Hotel has evolved from its colourful and somewhat tawdry past into an innovative Gastropub Hotel in 2012.
